Daily Marker challenge November 2016

So I stumbled across ‘The Daily Marker Challenge’ on Instagram and decided to give it ago you colour one image a day for all of November.

I have a fair selection of pro markers and used it to practice my colouring and make a few Birthday and Christmas cards. I found it a really fun challenge and very therapeutic to colour for 30 minutes every day after I got home from work.

Days 1-5

Day 1-5
I started the first five with images that I already had stamped.

Day 6

Day 6

I used day 6 to make a birthday card for my friend I used her favourite colour purple to colour in the Gorjuss girl and coordinate with background papers.

Days 7-11

Day 7-11

On day eight I used the first ever stamp that I bought and it is a wooden stamp as most of my stamps are now clear stamps. When I first got it I had whisper pens and had never even heard of a pro marker! The stamp is about 10 years old.

days 12-20

Day 12-20

I started making Christmas cards 6 of these are for leaders that volunteer with me at Girlguiding others are for family members.

days 21-24

Day 21-24

I purchased some more Gorjuss girl stamps at the Stitching, Sewing and Hobbycraft show at the Excel in London. I had a really great time colouring them. I need to get  some fine nibs to add to the tops of my pens to colour in small spaces.

Days 25-30

Day 25-30

I used the last 6 days to make more Christmas cards. These little stamps are all really cute.

I really enjoyed taking part in this challenge and will definitely take part in the next one it is great to set time for things that you enjoy doing as sometimes you can get so lost in other things you can forget.

Stitching, Sewing and Hobby Craft Show- London ExCel 2016

So I got another two free ticket to this show having been in the past. I took my mum to the show and we had a great time. She got some yarn for her knitting and I got various bits.

I got lots of lovely papers some Christmas ones and the spotty ones that I will use for future baby cards.

Managed to get some different skin tone Promarkers and nabbed the last black which I desperately need to use for hair. I also got some lovely material that I will use to make more tops. Most of the bits will be used on Christmas cards and I look forward to using them.

I always enjoying walking round these shows and having some me time if I go on my own or time with my mum if I go with her.

Have a Gorjuss birthday!

I have been taking part in the #thedailymarker30day on instagram where you colour an image every day for 30 days see my Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/albanysattic26/

I decided to combine the marker challenge with a birthday card I need to make. I used the Gojuss image as the focus of the card. I used promarkers (Orchaid- V528, Meadow Green- G339 and Burnt Sienna) I applied the pens several times to make the colours darker and then to add shading in some areas. I had to carefully cut her out with scissors and a craft knife.

I then thought about how to add her to the card and used my big shot and gems and buttons to add different dimensions and added the sentiment opting to have them slanted.

The finished card I am very pleased with it and hope my friend likes it she is a fan of purple so I hope so.

Baby you’re my firework…

So today I experimented with techniques to make a firework I used my promarkers to do stitch lines and then a black fine line drawing pen on one edge of the line. I then used Dovecraft 3D pearl effect and stickles.

I think I prefer the stickles as it sparkles more like a firework and I would not do the black pen next time. I have a few firework pictures from over the years that I need scrapbook so will definitely develop this to use in my scrapbook.

Later on I went to see some local fireworks and  I thought how much they have changed and developed since I was a child.

Watch this space for some more Fireworks..!
