So a few of the in laws have had birthday’s in the last few months and I have been busy making cards.

Two male cards and one female card.

The first card was a simple car wooden stamp that I used and one of the very first stamps that I purchased. I used stamps for the sentiment that I thought looked like number plate letters. I think this added to the overall effect of the card.

One card was for a 30th birthday and all was done in his favourite football team colours- blue!
It was very simple but effective make.

The female card was a Gorjuss girl card I had already coloured her in with my promarkers (I forgot to snap a picture!)

Batman Birthday

So today is my brother’s birthday he turns 30! He asked my mum for a batman cake so I decided to  make him a batman birthday card.

I used lots of my Christmas present to make this card and really enjoyed it also had to dome some of it free hand.

My sizzix big shot plus and oval die to be the logo background. I cut the bat free hand and used outline stickers to cut round them. I really liked the distress ink hickory smoke for a cloudy background.

The houses I cut out free hand and stuck some yellow on it for the lights and lots of stick foam pads to layer it.

I am really pleased with the out come and hope that my brother likes it.
I think the outcome of the buildings and smokey back ground gives it a good effect.

Christmas Cards

So I made all my Christmas cards this year. I made it my mission to do so as some years I make, some years I buy and other years I have done both!

I used my card-io stamps to make this set. I really like the black and white effect. I bought washi tape when I was at the Hobbycraft recently and I shall have to get some more as I really like it!

This is a bigger one using the card-io stamps I used yellow ink to make the sun effect in the background. I think the black border really sets it off.

This one is one I made for my mum. I used the card-io stamps but she isn’t keen on black and white so I used brown and green to stamp the images. I decided to set this in a window and add glitter to look like snow.
Her favourite colour is green and I used my new paper from the Stitching, Sewing and Hobbycraft show at the Excel centre in London.

My brother requested a snowman and a Christmas pudding. I think he was half joking and didn’t think I would actually make it. I cut shapes out on my Big shot machine and did some free hand. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

This card is for my husband he really likes penguins. I had to print a penguin from the internet and cut round it in black and white to get the outline I used promarkers for the eyes and nose. set on a nice background I put acetate over the top and added 3D Pearl effects to make it look like snow. This is a new effect that I haven’t tried before.

It was really satisfying to make ALL of my Christmas cards this year and I am really pleased I managed to achieve this.

Last Christmas…

Last Christmas it was mine and my Husband’s first Christmas day together, in previous years we had only seen each other on Boxing day.

In the month of December I reconnected with cross stitch and got a cute little penguin kit from Hobby Craft made by mouse loft.

In my lunch breaks I did the cross stitch penguin and then put it together to make a Christmas card.

I had to free hand cut the circle as the card wouldn’t fit through my Big Shot- this is when I decided that I needed to get the wider Big Shot machine and have asked for it this year. Hopefully I am a lucky girl!

Have a Gorjuss birthday!

I have been taking part in the #thedailymarker30day on instagram where you colour an image every day for 30 days see my Instagram here

I decided to combine the marker challenge with a birthday card I need to make. I used the Gojuss image as the focus of the card. I used promarkers (Orchaid- V528, Meadow Green- G339 and Burnt Sienna) I applied the pens several times to make the colours darker and then to add shading in some areas. I had to carefully cut her out with scissors and a craft knife.

I then thought about how to add her to the card and used my big shot and gems and buttons to add different dimensions and added the sentiment opting to have them slanted.

The finished card I am very pleased with it and hope my friend likes it she is a fan of purple so I hope so.

Pink or Blue?

We are expecting a baby in the family and we don’t know if it will be a boy or a girl do I have made one of each and decided to do a yellow one while I was making these.

The feet are quilled and take a while to roll, glue and dry. I really enjoy doing these little feet they are very sweet.

These are the last of my pink and blue background papers I really liked the polka dots and the starts and hearts it makes it stand out rather than just having plain paper.
